To Kill A Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird, a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960, won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature in 1961.

Set during the Great Depression of the 1930s in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, the novel focuses on issues of racism and prejudice in the American South.  The story is told predominately from the point of view of six year old Scout Finch, daughter of Atticus Finch, a white lawyer hired to defend Tom Robinson, a Black man falsely accused of raping a white woman.
